Mobile Coupons Hitting Grocery and Big Box

I have been noticing that mobile coupons are finally starting to be accepted at big box merchants, where people can really take advantage of them.  Because it’s still catching on, retailers who accept mobile coupons are often far and wide and you could spend more in gas than is worth it to use the coupon.

This morning, I signed up to receive mobile coupons from my fav - Target, a very new service they offer.  And i just read this article about A&P, a big grocery chain “going green” with mobile coupons.  Very cool, they are able to record the mobile coupons right on their customer’s store savings card, so the savings come right off when the customer swipes the card.  I can’t WAIT til my three local grocery stores go mobile and do that!

How can smaller, or less retail companies like yours and mine benefit from mobile coupons?  I am thinking about that and will do a longer post soon.  It seems like as customers become more acclimated to checking their phones for deals, the companies, large or small who embrace the technology will be the ones to come out on top.  I certainly want to be in that group – even if I’m not as big as Target.
